The Skyscraper and the Airplane

When you first read the title, you wonder exactly where the author is going to go with this essay. I thought it was interesting that he noted that the metal "bones" from each structure could have originated side by side in a steel plant. It was interesting that he mentioned that both were methods of housing large numbers of people high into the sky. I found it very strange that he decided that the airplane was "female" and the skyscraper "male". However, once he went on to describe the nurturing in the airplane by the crew and how the airlines selected the flight attendants; it became more clear. I also found it interesting the part about going from men flight attendants to sexy women for that position.
